What does it do?

Stylist2013 uses a document as a template and transfers all its settings (character styles etc…) to a collection of new documents. It does this with:

• a group of prewritten search queries which have to be installed in to the InDesign application to make them available to the script.
• a text file containing the searches to run, prepared by the user

What are the steps carried out by this tool?

If you specify a template document it will do that first, otherwise it:

• Runs all the searches specified in the text file
• Deletes all unused swatches
• Deletes all unused paragraph styles
• Deletes all unused character styles
• Imports all swatches from template document
• Imports all character styles from template document
• Imports all paragraph styles from template document
• Re-orders swatches, paragraphs styles and character styles into alphabetical order
• Updates all menu items that are affected in InDesign
